Girls Youth (U14's - U16's) Talent Development Programme

Girls Talent Development Programme (TDP)

Birkenhead United is an NZF Accredited Girls Talent Development Programme Provider, delivered by qualified and experienced coaches.

The programme is designed for Girls U14–U16 players and focuses on three key principles:

  • Maximum Enjoyment
  • Maximum Ball-Rolling Time
  • Maximum Decision-Making

Sessions focus on the four moments of the game, with a different theme each week:

  • Controlling Possession
  • Defending
  • Transition
  • Creating & Converting

Our mission is to provide an enjoyable footballing experience that supports player development and game understanding. TDP also allows a tailored approach, enabling players to play across age groups if a different challenge is needed.

The programme is overseen by Dave Wright, Head of Coaching, who holds the OFC Professional Diploma, a UEFA A License, and has experience in Premier League academies (Brentford FC & Fulham FC), Melbourne Victory, and with the All Whites.
