BUAFC: Girls and Women’s Football Development Officer

Your Role: As a Girls and Women's Football Development Officer, your mission is to drive projects and programmes centred around girls' and women's football in our junior and youth space.  Through fostering community engagement and nurturing talent, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of girls’ and women’s football at BUAFC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help develop and lead the strategic direction for girls’ and women’s football at the club. 
  • Lead the Girls TDP and Skill Centre programmes and support the transition of players across junior and youth age groups.
  • Implement programmes to advance girls' and women’s player development from First Kicks to Youth players including Fantails, holiday programmes and schools programmes.
  • Work with our Director of Coaching to plan and facilitate coach education, supporting and elevating coach development among girls and women at the club.
  • Coaching junior and youth players as required.
  • Collaborate with our Girls and Women’s Committee to enhance the experience of female players, coaches and volunteers within the club
  • Align football strategies with Northern Regional Football and New Zealand Football directives.

Qualifications and experience (Desirable)

  • Previous experience working in football within New Zealand or abroad
  • Desirable coaching qualifications:
    • NZF JL3 qualification
    • NZF C license holder (or working towards)
  • Good understanding of player development with girls’ and women's football in mind
  • Experience delivering or designing programmes
  • Curiosity to learn
  • High personal standards around communication, punctuality and reliability
  • A current New Zealand Driver’s license

You are a champion for girls and women's football and passionate about creating more meaningful opportunities for girls in sports. 

You will be well supported by the Club’s Girls and Women’s and Football Technical Committees, the Director of Football and Director of Coaching, and if successful, you will be part of a welcoming, community-focused club dedicated to inclusivity and development.

BUAFC - Boys/Mixed Talent Development Programme Coach

Birkenhead United AFC is a Northern Premier League club with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, NZF-accredited Talent Development Programmes for boys, girls, and mixed teams aged 12-17.

The club is seeking a part-time coach to join our Boys/Mixed Talent Development Programme (TDP) and work with one of our youth teams. We are looking for a person with the following attributes:

Essential

  • Hold (or working towards) a New Zealand Football C Licence (or overseas equivalent).
  • A willingness to learn and challenge convention in player development.
  • Well-organised, a good communicator, and punctual.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a co-coaching environment.
  • A player-centred coaching approach.
  • Open to feedback, humble in approach, and willing to accept support.
  • Experience coaching youth players aged 12-17.

Desirable

  • Hold a New Zealand Football B Licence or higher (or overseas equivalent).
  • Desire and availability to coach across multiple teams/groups.
  • A variety of experience in high-quality development environments, either within New Zealand or overseas.
  • Skills or experience in athlete development, video analysis, strength and conditioning, or sports science.
