Join the Birko Team - Girls Talent Development Programme Coach

Birkenhead United AFC is a Northern Premier League club that runs a high-quality NZF accredited Talent Development Programme for Girls & Boys aged 12-17.

The club is looking for a part-time coach to work youth players within the Girls TDP programme. Our priority is to bring good people with a passion for football onto our coaching team. We are looking for a person with the following attributes:

Essential

  • A desire to create an environment for kids to have a positive football experience.
  • A willingness to learn and challenge convention in player development.
  • Well-organised, professional, a good communicator, and punctual.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a co-coaching environment.
  • A player-centred coaching approach.
  • Open to feedback, humble in approach, and willing to accept support.
  • Experience coaching youth players aged 12-17.

Desirable

  • Hold (or working towards) a New Zealand Football C license (or overseas equivalent)
  • NZF B licence or higher (or overseas equivalent)
  • Desire to work across more than one group (depending on availability)
  • Variety of experience in high quality development environments within New Zealand or overseas
  • Skills or experience in athlete development, video analysis, strength and conditioning or sports science

Birkenhead United AFC is a Northern Premier League & NZ National League club with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, NZF-accredited Talent Development Programmes for boys, girls, and mixed teams aged 12-17.

The club is seeking a part-time coach to join our Boys/Mixed Talent Development Programme (TDP) and work with one of our youth teams. Our priority is to bring good people with a passion for football onto our coaching team. We are looking for a person with the following attributes:

Essential

  • Desire and availability to coach across multiple teams/groups.
  • First aid qualification
  • A variety of experience in high-quality development environments, either within New Zealand or overseas.
  • Skills or experience in athlete development, video analysis, strength and conditioning, or sports science.
