Our home is nestled close to Beach Haven's suburban heart and bears the name of the esteemed Shepherd family, who cultivated its grounds across generations. This expansive park boasts a wealth of recreational offerings, and within these grounds, you'll discover the proud home of Birkenhead United AFC, adding to the vibrant spirit of this thriving community hub.  Our Club embodies the spirit of our community and the aspirations of our tamariki.

Birkenhead United AFC and Shepherds Park was thrust onto the world stage to shine as one of the training sites for the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.  To meet FIFA standards, we need to upgrade our facilities by creating gender-neutral changing spaces and expanding our fan area to be larger and more accommodating for everyone in the community.

Our playing fields, under the supervision of the Auckland Council, boast four full-sized football pitches alongside an additional smaller training pitch. Enhanced with floodlights, our two primary pitches and training area ensure optimal training conditions during the darker winter months.
