Girls Youth (U14's - U16's)

This year BUAFC has added more opportunities to promote female youth player development across the Club. Our U16’s girls have trained alongside the Women’s First Team allowing upcoming players to be exposed to the senior environment and as a result, a number of U16’s have had the opportunity to regularly play as part of the Women's First Team.

Our U14’s girls team has seen our young players continuing to develop their skills and confidence and this year the team won their NRF grade/division.

To continue promoting girls and women’s football development pathway the club is introducing the Talent Development Pathway format in 2024.  Training will include technical and tactical components plus an Injury Prevention Programme specifically designed for female athletes to support girls’ well-being and physical development.

Term 4 U12 - U1 4 Girls Training Information

In Term 4, we are excited to offer a five-week training block that will include:

  • Training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 6:15 pm at Westlake Girls. This will run from 15th October to 21st November.
  • Please note that Thursday’s session may be moved to Friday (same time) at Greville Reserve, pending confirmation of field availability.

During this block, we will also invite girls from other age groups to join in preparation for next year. Additionally, we may look to organise weekend games against other TDP teams to build experience.

This training block aims to identify girls for the U14s team for the 2025 season, ahead of next year’s trials. We are keen to continue the development and growth of our girls' football program. The programme is open to all girls who are playing in U12 - U14.

Regarding the 2025 season, we are still awaiting confirmation on whether Birkenhead United will receive TDP accreditation and if we are ready to enter the league. Many factors are at play, and we will keep you updated as soon as we receive any further information.
